ROOF REPLACEMENT, DONE THE AAA WAY

With the roof stripped to the decking, we inspect all of it for soundness. If we find rotted or warped decking, we notify you and make a recommendation. The decision to replace or reuse stays yours.

Existing ridge vents and louvered vents come off and are replaced with new at the time of replacement. Same for the plumbing boots that seal your soil stacks; a worn boot is one of the most common sources of future leaks.

Skylights are handled individually depending on their age and wear. We tell you straight whether yours should stay or be replaced while the roof is open.

Your new system goes on following the manufacturer’s guidelines to the letter. That keeps the warranty valid and gets maximum life out of every component.

At the end of the project we run a magnet over your yard and driveway to pick up nails and metal debris. Kids, pets, and tires stay safe.

A roof is a system, not just shingles. Ours includes ice and water membrane along the eaves and in the valleys where water backs up, synthetic underlayment across the deck, starter strip at the edges, architectural laminated shingles, and matching hip and ridge cap. Proper intake and exhaust ventilation is part of the job too — a roof that can’t breathe cooks its own shingles from underneath. We use CertainTeed, one of North America’s leading shingle manufacturers.

Sometimes it’s permitted, but we rarely recommend it. Laying new shingles over old hides whatever is wrong with the deck underneath, adds significant weight, and shortens the life of the new roof because it traps heat. A tear-off also lets us actually see the decking and replace anything soft before it’s covered up for another twenty years.

We tarp the landscaping and the areas below the work, and we run magnets over the yard, drive and walkways before we leave. Cleanup is the thing our customers mention most often in reviews — more than once we’ve been told it looked like we were never there.

It happens, and you’ll hear about it before we do anything. We’ll show you the damage, explain what needs replacing and what it changes about the job. What we won’t do is quietly roof over soft decking or spring a surprise on you after the fact.

No. Plenty of our customers are at work while their roof is replaced. We’ll walk the job with you when it’s finished. If anything comes up mid-job that changes the scope, we’ll call you rather than decide for you.
